Professional Letter Writing Service in the UK
Terms and Conditions
Effective Date: March 2026
By using LetterLab's letter writing service, you agree to the following terms and conditions in full. Please read them carefully before placing an order. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you should not use our services.
1. Service Scope
LetterLab provides custom-written letters and written communication assistance based solely on the information supplied by the client at the time of ordering.
-
Our service is a professional writing service, not a legal, financial, medical, or regulatory advisory service.
-
Nothing produced by LetterLab constitutes legal advice, financial guidance, medical opinion, or any form of regulated professional advice.
-
Letters produced by LetterLab are intended to assist with written communication only. They should not be relied upon as authoritative statements of law, policy, entitlement, or fact.
-
LetterLab makes no representation that any letter produced will achieve a particular result, response, or outcome from any third party, institution, organisation, court, tribunal, employer, or government body.
-
The effectiveness of any letter depends on a wide range of factors entirely outside LetterLab's control, including but not limited to the policies of the recipient, the strength of the client's underlying circumstances, and the discretion of the decision-maker involved.
-
Where a client uses a LetterLab letter in a legal, financial, or formal regulatory context, it is the client's sole responsibility to seek independent professional advice before doing so.
2. No Guarantee of Outcome
LetterLab operates as a skilled writing service. We take care to produce clear, persuasive, and well-structured correspondence. However:
-
We do not guarantee, promise, or imply that any letter will produce a favourable response, result, award, decision, or outcome of any kind.
-
A well-written letter does not guarantee success in any appeal, claim, complaint, legal proceeding, court case, negotiation, or application process.
-
Outcomes depend entirely on the individual circumstances of each case, the accuracy of the information provided by the client, and the independent judgement of third parties.
-
Any suggestion made by LetterLab regarding tone, structure, content, or strategy is offered as a writing perspective only and does not constitute professional advice in any regulated field.
-
Clients who have received an outcome they consider unsatisfactory are not entitled to a refund on the basis of that outcome alone. Dissatisfaction with a third party's decision does not constitute grounds for a claim against LetterLab.
3. Client Responsibility
The quality and appropriateness of any letter produced by LetterLab is directly dependent on the accuracy and completeness of the information provided by the client.
-
You are solely responsible for ensuring all information you supply is accurate, truthful, complete, and up to date.
-
LetterLab does not verify, fact-check, or validate any information provided by clients.
-
If inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information is provided, LetterLab accepts no liability for any consequences, whether the resulting letter is used or not.
-
If circumstances change after your order is placed or your letter is delivered, it is your responsibility to inform LetterLab before using the letter. LetterLab is not liable for letters used after a material change in circumstances.
-
You must not request services that are unlawful, defamatory, threatening, fraudulent, or otherwise inappropriate or harmful.
-
LetterLab reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or cancel any order where the information or request provided appears to breach UK law, professional standards, or these terms.
-
If you use a letter produced by LetterLab in a manner that differs from the intended purpose stated at the time of ordering, LetterLab accepts no responsibility for the consequences.
4. Expectation Management
We strongly encourage all clients to have realistic expectations about what a letter writing service can and cannot achieve.
-
LetterLab is not a law firm, regulated financial adviser, licensed immigration consultant, or medical professional.
-
If you are dealing with a legal matter, a financial dispute, an immigration issue, a tribunal, or any situation with significant personal or financial consequences, you should consult a qualified professional in the relevant field before relying on any written communication for that purpose.
-
Where LetterLab offers guidance or suggestions regarding content, framing, or strategy, these represent the subjective professional opinion of the writer at the time. They are not a guarantee that the approach will be effective in your particular circumstances.
-
Clients who proceed on the basis of their own interpretation of advice or suggestions provided by LetterLab, rather than seeking independent professional guidance where appropriate, do so entirely at their own risk.
5. Revisions and Refunds
-
Each service includes the number of revisions stated at the time of purchase.
-
Revisions apply to adjustments in tone, structure, style, or clarity based on the original brief. They do not constitute a full rewrite of new content, nor an obligation to produce a fundamentally different letter to the one requested.
-
Revision requests must be submitted within 7 days of receiving your initial draft. Requests submitted after this period may be declined or treated as a new order.
-
Refunds are not available once work has commenced. Work is considered to have commenced upon payment being received and the order confirmed.
-
Refunds will only be considered in exceptional circumstances where LetterLab has entirely failed to deliver the agreed service through no fault of the client.
-
Dissatisfaction with a third party's response to your letter, or with the outcome of any application, appeal, complaint, or proceeding, does not constitute grounds for a refund.
-
If you feel a revision has not addressed your feedback adequately, please contact us to discuss. LetterLab will always endeavour to resolve concerns fairly, but is not obliged to issue a refund where a letter has been delivered in accordance with the brief provided.
-
LetterLab is not responsible for delays caused by events outside our control, including illness, technical failure, third-party disruption, or other force majeure circumstances.
6. Payments
-
All payments are processed securely through Stripe, a PCI-DSS compliant third-party payment provider that operates in accordance with UK financial regulations.
-
LetterLab does not store, access, or retain any payment card information.
-
Services will only commence once payment has been successfully processed and confirmed.
-
In the event of a payment dispute or chargeback raised without prior contact with LetterLab, we reserve the right to provide evidence of service delivery to the relevant payment provider.
7. Liability
-
LetterLab's liability in all circumstances is strictly limited to the value of the individual service purchased.
-
LetterLab accepts no liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from the use of, or inability to use, our services. This includes but is not limited to loss of income, loss of opportunity, emotional distress, legal costs, or any adverse decision made by a third party.
-
LetterLab is not liable for the actions, responses, decisions, or omissions of any third party who receives a letter written by us. The decisions of courts, employers, landlords, financial institutions, government departments, and any other recipients are entirely outside our control and responsibility.
-
Responsibility for how our letters are used, shared, submitted, or adapted rests solely with the client.
-
LetterLab accepts no liability where a client has altered, amended, or added to a letter after delivery without our knowledge or agreement.
-
Where liability cannot be excluded by applicable law, it is limited to the maximum extent permitted and shall not exceed the fee paid for the specific service in question.
8. Confidentiality and Data Protection
-
LetterLab respects your privacy and complies fully with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
-
We do not share your personal information or letter content with third parties, except where required to do so by law or regulatory authority.
-
With your express permission, anonymised and unidentifiable examples of letters may be used in our portfolio or marketing materials.
-
Please refer to our Privacy Policy for full details on how we collect, store, and handle personal data.
9. Automated Assistance
-
While every letter is written and reviewed by a professional, some elements of the writing process may incorporate automated or AI-assisted tools to support efficiency, structure, and quality.
-
Automated tools are never used to share your personal data externally or with third-party platforms outside our controlled environment.
-
All work produced is human-reviewed before delivery to maintain accuracy, appropriate tone, and relevance to your brief.
10. Intellectual Property
-
All letters and written content produced by LetterLab remain the intellectual property of LetterLab until payment has been received in full.
-
Upon full payment, the client is granted a personal, non-exclusive licence to use the letter for the purpose stated at the time of ordering.
-
You may not resell, republish, or distribute letters produced by LetterLab for commercial purposes without prior written consent.
11. Complaints
-
If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, please contact us in the first instance via email at info@letterlab.shop before pursuing any formal complaint or dispute.
-
We aim to respond to all complaints within 5 working days and to resolve them fairly and promptly.
-
LetterLab's complaints process does not affect any statutory rights you may have under UK consumer law.
12. Governing Law
-
These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
-
Any dispute arising from or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. Service Acceptance
-
By placing an order with LetterLab, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms and conditions in full.
-
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of our services following any update will be treated as acceptance of the revised terms. The current version will always be published on this page with the effective date noted at the top.
